The GAI is pleased to announce three field-based workshops, one to Peru that includes visits to Machu Picchu and the Amazon Rain Forest. Partnering with the Iowa DNR's REAP program, we are co-sponsoring two workshops to various parts of Iowa, southern Iowa to explore the geography and history of the Underground Railroad and then a separate workshop to northwest Iowa to travel Iowa's glacial landscape.
Much like Americans travelling to Mexico for cheaper goods and services, Chileans travel to Peru for lower cost products and services, like optometry and dentistry.
Because of poor economic conditions on the Altiplano, many Aymara migrate to Tacna and other larger cities near the coast.
