Geography Awareness Week

Posted on November 12, 2014

Geography Awareness Week For the past 25 years, the third week of November has been proclaimed Geography Awareness Week. Geography Awareness Week is organized by National Geographic Education Programs and encourages citizens to think and learn about the significance of place and how we affect/are affected by it. This year’s theme is “The Future of Food” and will take place from November 16th-22nd. Global population predictions show the world’s population reaching 11 billion in the near future, making the study of food and its geography critical.
