On March 5th, members of the Geographic Alliance of Iowa participated in the Missouri Valley History Conference in Omaha, Nebraska. The research team, which consisted of Dr. Alex Oberle (Alliance Coordinator), Dr. Leisl Carr Childers, Dr. Michael Childers, and undergraduate research assistants Benjamin Humphrey (Geography), Kailyn Bettle (English), and Nicole Hindman (Biology), presented on their work with the My National Parks Project The project, which is still ongoing, incorporates experiences with national parks into a classroom setting from elementary school to graduate level college courses through an online museum exhibition, but also through narratives, interactive maps, and lesson plans.
